The Greenhorn Multi-Product Re-Offer Timber Sale is located within all or portions of T 23 N, R 11 E, Sections 3 & 4 and T 24 N, R 11 E, Sections 33 & 34. The Forest Service will receive sealed bids at the Mt Hough Ranger District office at 39696 Hwy 70, Quincy, CA 95971 for an estimated volume of 461.6 CCF of Douglas Fir sawtimber, 143.0 CCF of Incense Cedar sawtimber, 129.0 CCF of Ponderosa Pine sawtimber, 136.0 CCF of Sugar Pine sawtimber, 692.1 CCF of White Fir sawtimber, and 855.5 CCF of Combined Softwood green biomass, marked or otherwise designated for cutting. Bids will be opened on 08/16/2012 at 10:00 AM at this office. The Forest Service reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Vegetation Management Program for 14 Transmission Line Right of Way Corridors

Plumas National Forest
Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) is proposing to use herbicides within 14 Transmission Line right-of-ways (ROWs) within the jurisdiction of the Plumas National Forest (PNF). PG&E proposes to use herbicides to control unwanted vegetation on National Forest System (NFS) lands. Vegetation management is a critical component of ongoing operation and maintenance of these transmission line ROWs and the use of herbicides is necessary for safe and reliable operation of the facilities and to reduce the possibility of catastrophic wildfires.  
The purpose of this scoping period is to provide an opportunity for the public to provide early and meaningful participation on a proposed action prior to a decision being made by the Responsible Official. A Vegetation Management Program (VMP) is available upon request. If you have any questions about this proposal, or would like more information or a copy of the VMP, please contact Mr. David Drake at (530) 836-7122.
How to Comment and Timeframe:
Written, facsimile, hand-delivered, oral, and electronic comments concerning this action will be accepted for 30 calendar days following the publication of this notice in the Feather River Bulletin (newspaper of record). Proposed timber harvest
A Timber Harvest Plan (THP) will be submitted to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire) for portions of T22N, R11E, Sections 1, 2, and 3, MDBM; T22N, R12E, Sections 17, 19, 20, 21, 29, 30, MDBM; T23N, R11E, Sections 21-28,33-36, MDBM; and T23N, R12E Sections 30 & 31, MDBM in Plumas county. The watercourses that may be affected are Poplar Creek, Squirrel Creek, Chris Creek, Jamison Creek, Smith Creek, and three unnamed tributaries to the Middle Fork of the Feather River near Cub Valley and Mohawk. This notice is to request information regarding domestic water supplies located 1000 feet downstream of the project area. If you have information regarding domestic water supplies or use from this watercourse please contact Danielle Banchio, North Valley Resource Management, P.O. Box 53, Taylorsville, CA. 95983 within ten days of this publication. All responses will be submitted with the THP for review. If domestic water supplies are noted, the THP shall contain mitigation, if necessary, to protect the domestic water supply.
