Lona Jean Barham passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family July 1, 2012.

Lona was born Feb. 3, 1934, and raised in Greenville and Sacramento. She graduated in 1955 with a BA in Public Medicine from U.C. Berkeley.

She is survived by her husband Darel Barham; brother James Nagler; sister Nancy Erling; son Michael Worrell (Jackie); daughter Linda Worrell; four grandchildren, four stepchildren and great- grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents, Lona and Stanley Nagler.

Loan Jean retired as a Blood Bank Specialist at American River Hospital in 1994 and moved to Mt. Shasta.

She loved her exotic birds, egg artistry and Yorkie dogs.

A memorial was held August 11 at the Mt. Shasta Elks Lodge. Love you, Lona Jean, rest in peace.

Per Lona’s request, a private graveside service will be held at a later date at the Barham family plot in Janesville.

 

 

Sergeant Tyler Lynn Abbott died unexpectedly, Friday, Aug. 10, at his residence following complications from recent surgery.

He was born July 31, 1983, in Auburn, to Kennith and Shelly Abbott.

Survivors include his wife, Susan; and his children, Isaiah, Christine, Serena, Jadah and Alyssa, all of Ft. Hood, Texas; his parents, Kennith and Sheila Abbott, of Westwood, and Shelly and Brian Smith, of Reno, Nev.; brothers, Jonathan of Susanville, Joshua of Ft. Polk, La., William, residing in England, and Michael of Arizona; sisters, Candi of New Mexico and Kandra of Chester; along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of Tyler’s life was held Monday, Aug. 20, at the Westwood Community Center. Interment with full military honors followed in the Westwood Cemetery.

Quincy resident Gerd Johann Buddenbrock, 77, died Monday, Aug. 13, 2012, at his residence.

He was born in Essen, Germany, Nov. 14, 1934, to the late Hermann and Theresa (Wisholick) Buddenbrock.

Gerd is survived by his sons, Christian Buddenbrock of Pueblo, Colo., Nicholas Buddenbrock of Reno, Nev., and Frank Buddenbrock of Agoura Hills; a daughter, Michelle Yalenty of Valencia; four grandchildren and one brother in Germany.

A celebration of Gerd’s life took place at the Meadow Valley Community Church, Saturday, Aug. 18.

John N. Countryman, longtime resident of Bucks Lake, died in his home in Yuma, Ariz., Aug. 18, 2012. He was born Dec. 15, 1922.

He is predeceased by his first wife, Joyce Countryman.

His is survived by his wife Bertie Countryman of Yuma, Ariz.; his son Ken Countryman and wife Terry of Meadow Valley; two grandsons and two great-grandchildren.

Robert “Bob” Nally was born July 31, 1951, in Portola. After battling a long-term illness, he passed away Aug. 9, 2012, in Reno, Nev., at the age of 61.

Bob was an athlete, a husband, a father, a coach, an inventor, a dreamer and a doer who believed in the power of positive thinking.

Bob is survived by his wife Denise, son Rob, daughter Tammi, grandchildren Albert and Rysa, stepdaughter Nicole, brother Mike, and many family members and friends who love him and miss him every day.

A gathering for family and friends will be held at his son’s house in Portola Aug. 25, at 2 p.m.
