A three-vehicle wreck closed Highway 70 west of Vinton Thursday afternoon at approximately 2:45 p.m. A white sedan and van can be seen in the foreground overturned in a ditch, while further down the highway a blue overturned trailer is visible. Adjacent to the trailer, but not visible in the photo, is a silver pickup truck. A care flight helicopter landed in the middle of the highway during the rescue operation. Two ambulances from Eastern Plumas Health Care and a host of other emergency vehicles responded. There were no fatalities. For the full story and more photos, see next week’s newspaper.
