Vinton_wreck_4xJPG

A three-vehicle wreck closed Highway 70 west of Vinton Thursday afternoon at approximately 2:45 p.m. A white sedan and van can be seen in the foreground overturned in a ditch, while further down the highway a blue overturned trailer is visible. Adjacent to the trailer, but not visible in the photo, is a silver pickup truck. A care flight helicopter landed in the middle of the highway during the rescue operation. Two ambulances from Eastern Plumas Health Care and a host of other emergency vehicles responded. There were no fatalities. For the full story and more photos, see next week’s newspaper. I'm glad there were no fatalities, but I hope we won't have to wait a week for more information. I think it's irresponsible to print something like this, especially with photo, without timely followup.

70 is constantly seeing high speed passing well in excess of the posted limit. Why are CHP not there? I can't tell you how many times I'm passed by folks doing 80 plus and trying to pass three cars at a time.

The accident was reported. What additional information would you like Micke? Your request is no more than rubber necking.

Micke, this is a newspaper site, not a real-time blogging feed. If you want to know more about this event Google could be your friend. If you hadn't first read about it here, would you have heard about it at all before next week?

I don't see the full story and more photos, as promised in this article! Was a follow up story printed in this week's paper?

How kind to point that out, Perplexed. Would you be so rude if you were using your own name? I can only hope that you do not have family or friends with white cars...
