Dogs and owners head for school

Feather Publishing
8/29/2012

The Central Plumas Recreation and Park District will offer a basic dog obedience class this fall. The class, led by Karen Gimbel of Meadow Valley, begins at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, and continues each Thursday through Oct. 11, according to district general manager Jim Boland.

“We are very fortunate, once again, to have an instructor of Ms. Gimbel’s stature to lead our dog obedience class. She’s extremely knowledgeable,” Boland said.

The class emphasizes basic commands and techniques to help owners gain better control over their canine companions.

Classes are held rain or shine on the grassy area at the Plumas-Sierra Fairgrounds. As class size is very limited, early registration is encouraged.

Gimbel said the Sept. 6 class is an orientation for owners; leave pets home. For more information or to register, contact the district office at 283-3278.
