Plumas Bank reports yet another profitable quarter

Plumas Bancorp, a bank holding company and the parent company of Plumas Bank, released its 2014 third-quarter earnings of $1.3 million. That represents a 32 percent increase, $320,000, over the period in 2013. For the first nine months in 2014, the bank reported net income of $3.4 million, an increase of $879,000 (35 percent) compared to the same period in 2013.

BOAT SHRINKWRAPPING IN QUINCY
Jeff Finch, manager at Canyon Motor Parts, has teamed up with the gang from Tahoe Marine Powersports to hold a boat clinic at the NAPA auto parts store in East Quincy. Jeff says his store and Tahoe Marine have preordered parts (the necessary framing wood for the shrinkwrapping is being purchased locally from Mountain Building Supply) for this two-weekend event, which is set for Oct. 3 – 4 and again Oct. 17 – 18 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Call 613-5874 to set an appointment. More details are in the ad in this week’s newspaper. Tahoe Marine also shrinkwraps other recreational vehicles, including trailers, so be sure to ask about it.

NEW INSURANCE AGENT JOINS TEAM

Haley Shafer is the newest insurance agent at Flanigan-Leavitt Insurance Co. Haley and her family relocated to Quincy from Lemoore, where she was an insurance agent handling commercial lines. She and her husband Michael have three children: Michael Jr., 13, Makayla, 10, and Hunter, 5. The family enjoys a variety of outdoor activities and said that Plumas County seems to be an ideal place for them to raise their children. From the Flanigan offices in Quincy, Haley will specialize in personal auto and home insurance. “We’re excited to have Haley on our team. Her experience and character will fit well with our customers and our staff,” said Mike Flanigan.

GIRLS’ NIGHT OUT THIS FRIDAY

With a Hollywood theme and ladies dressed as their favorite actresses, the ever-popular Girls’ Night Out this Friday evening in Quincy promises to be as gala an event as ever. The fun-filled and entertaining night begins at 4 p.m. and continues past 8 p.m. Your stroll starts at Carey Candy Co. where you can pick up a program and a bag filled with goodies. It then continues as you visit the 24 participating businesses that have rolled out the red carpet with refreshments, music and prize drawings. The evening won’t be complete without stopping at the Town Hall Theatre to participate in the costume contest sponsored by Sierra Moon Photography.
