Budget committee considers options

Personnel accounts for more than $20 million of Plumas Unified School District's $24 million budget, so when substantial cuts must be made, it's difficult to avoid affecting employees.

A massive rock slide that took place at approximately 8:30 this morning has left huge pieces of rock on the road. CalTrans estimates that it will take 8 to 10 hours to clear and repair the road. The slide took place 1/2 mile west of Rock Creek Dam between Belden and Tobin. Click "more of this story" to see a photo of the slide.
