  • Sticker shock: Developers of the stalled Feather River Inn project say they are stunned by the Graeagle Fire Protection District’s demand for an up-front $250,000 annexation fee.

Firefighters from the Mt. Hough Ranger District will be conducting a prescribed burn today, Thursday, May 6, in the community of Meadow Valley.  The Meadow Valley project, 30-50 acres, is located across from Lowell Bader Park near Bucks Lake Road and between Massey Creek Road and FS Road 24N29.

Residents in Meadow Valley should expect to see smoke today and tomorrow with a likely inversion in the morning.  If weather conditions allow, burning will continue tomorrow as well.  Quincy residents may see smoke depending on prevailing wind direction.

Air quality will be monitored very closely and is a top priority.
