  • On trial: The trial for a Quincy man accused of inflicting fatal injuries on a toddler in 2013 is scheduled to begin March 12.
  • Moving on: Just days after Plumas District Hospital announced that it couldn’t take over Quincy Nursing & Rehabilitation, several residents of the facility have found new homes.

The County of Plumas filed suit yesterday in Plumas County Superior Court against District Attorney Jeff Cunan, alleging Cunan improperly handled funds from the bad check diversion program.

The county is seeking payment from Cunan of $14,771.55 and any other funds a complete audit may uncover.

"There was no mishandling of money whatsoever," said Cunan. "This claim establishes that the CAO (County Administrative Officer)  and the auditor are now officially out of control."

See next week’s newspaper for the complete story.
