Greenville water is OK, even with storms

Feather Publishing

Greenville residents used to boil water notices during major storm events may not have noticed, but they did not receive one this time.

The new state-of-the-art membrane filtration system is handling the storms well, according to chief operator Jesse Lawson, and not balking like the previous system.

There were heavy water losses in November though, he reported at the Wednesday, Dec. 8 meeting of the Indian Valley Community Services District.

The losses were partially due to testing the new system, which required the waste of about two million gallons.

"There were hydrants open all over the place," Lawson said.

He is still working some bugs out of system operations, but everything is working fine.
