Tea party hosts travel management presentation tonight

The Almanor Basin Tea Party will host the third presentation in its series on the Plumas National Forest Travel Management Plan tonight, March 8, at 6 p.m. at Memorial Hall, 225 Gay St. in Chester.

Jay Francis and/or Terry Collins from the Collins Pine Company will speak on forest management, regulations, public access and sustainability.

Francis is a life-long resident of northern California. He graduated from Humboldt State University with a degree in forest management (production emphasis) in 1984.

He has worked for the federal government and several private timber management companies during his 30-year career in the forest products industry. He has been with the Collins Pine Company in Chester for 17 years and has served for the past 13 years as the forest manager.

Francis is a California registered professional forester, a SAF certified forester and is a member of the California Licensed Foresters Association, the Society of American Foresters and the Forest Guild.
