Discount Taste of Plumas ticket presales end April 1

Feather Publishing
3/30/2011

Delicious delights, lovingly prepared and thoughtfully presented — that pretty much sums up the spirit of the Taste of Plumas, the first and only countywide restaurant tasting. The fifth annual event takes place Saturday, April 9, at the Plumas-Sierra County Fairgrounds at 5:30 p.m. Seats are still available — but presale ticket discounts end April 1 — no fooling. After April 1 all tickets will be $40.

Until April 2, general admission is $35 and includes one souvenir wine glass and the opportunity to savor samplings from 25-plus culinary establishments and wineries. General admission tickets are also available at Quincy Natural Foods. Plumas Arts members must contact the Plumas Arts office, 283-3402 or plumasarts.org, to purchase presale-only members discount tickets at $30 per member.

Anyone who doubts the artistic talents of the Plumas community need only attend this event. From the servings of restaurants and wineries to the extraordinary collection of auction items, the creativity of the community is only outdone by its generosity.

The event is one of the most important fundraisers for “can-do” community cultural arts organization Plumas Arts. Love movies and concerts at the Town Hall Theatre? Mountain Harvest Festival? Almanor Art Show? Words & Music? The Art Barn at the County Fair? Plumas Arts Gallery? Art displays and so many great cultural events in Plumas County? Then come on out and support this great organization. Organizers say that, especially in the current tumultuous financial climate, this fundraiser is more important that ever.

Plus, and probably the best reason to attend, is the fact that this is a really great event. “People love seeing the hall full of food and people and colors and smiles. It is a very happy time, and especially in hard times it is very important to have fun,” comment the event coordinators.

Items for silent auction are as diverse and wonderful as the food on the tables. Patrons can bid for adventures like: five days in a condo in Zihuatanejo, symphony tickets, a serenade, scenic flights, electrical work, consultation by a master gardener, Spanish lessons, tax preparation, original art, framed prints, movie posters and many unique items and much, much more. Check a current list of items on the Taste of Plumas Web page at plumasarts.org.
