Power has been restored to Greenville, and crews will work on replacing the pole tomorrow, according to PG&E engineer Bob Beach, who was at the scene at 5:15 p.m., to assess the work that will be needed.
4:30 p.m. Update
The faulty utility pole has been stabilized and the downtown roadway is now open. Law enforcement has been released from the incident. Power has not yet been restored to downtown Greenville.

3:30 p.m.

PGE just arrived in Greenville, where a high line is hanging over the Main Street home of Brandon Robinson and his family. The pole suddenly gave way about an hour ago. One downtown block is closed to traffic. Power will be out through most of downtown Greenville, from Grand to Mill streets, according to PGE lineman Darrell Whitley, while they use a truck to stabilize the pole. They will work to isolate it as well, so they can restore power to the rest of Greenville. Right now he is not sure if they will complete repairs tonight or tomorrow.
