Save White Sulphur Springs Concert

Feather Publishing
6/10/2011

Call it historic, call it a cultural treasure, White Sulphur Springs looks to become a regional community center under the care and leadership of the Mohawk Valley Stewardship Council.

The Save White Sulphur Springs campaign hosts the third annual concert fundraiser Sunday, June 26. This year, the gathering will be at the famed White Sulphur Springs Ranch for the first time. The house and grounds will be open for tours and look-sees.

The venue for the program will be in the trees above the pool with on-ground seating and musical entertainment by Joyce Vetter and the Bourgeois Gypsies from about 3 to 6:30 p.m.

Gates open at 2:30 p.m. so come early and stick your finger in the 70-degree pool. Tickets are $40 and advance purchase is strongly advised. Tickets are available at Eco Centric, the Outpost and The Mercantile in Graeagle, Kelly’s High Sierra Books in Portola, and the Plumas County Museum in Quincy.

For more information, contact Bill Tantau at 836-2334 or visit  mohawkvalley.us.

Beer and wine will be available and the meal will be centered on a ranch tri-tip barbecue. There will be a silent auction as well as some very significant live auction items that include a weekend in Seattle, a Napa Valley holiday, fine art and a local plane ride.

The fundraiser will be a chance for the public to see up close what the potential and challenges are for the restoration of this important community recreation facility.
