A 33-year-old Greenville man is in a coma following a Sept. 8 incident that is still under investigation.

Jarold Hovland is listed in critical condition at Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno.

According to Plumas County Sheriff’s Investigator Steve Peay and District Attorney David Hollister, the events that led to Hovland’s injuries are still under investigation. There have been no arrests made.

“From what we can tell at this point, there was a party going on and a fight broke out,” Peay said.

Peay said three people who were possibly involved in the fight have been interviewed.

According to the information from the sheriff’s office, Hovland was found “covered in blood” at 10:51 p.m. Sept. 8.

The incident happened in a wooded area about 60 yards behind the residence of 125 Bidwell St., No. 1, in Greenville.

Hovland was airlifted to Renown, where he remains.

Peay said anyone with information is encouraged to call the sheriff’s investigation unit at 283-6363.
