Prescribed Burning on Eagle Lake Ranger District

The Lassen National Forest Will be conducting a prescribed burn on the Eagle Lake Ranger District. The Champs Defensible Fuel Profile Zone (DFPZ) Underburn on Monday, October 17 through Friday, October 21. Ignition dates and acreage estimates may change depending on conditions and resource availability.
o Project Name: Champs DFPZ Underburn
o Legal Location: T33N/R8E/ Sec.24 and T33N/R9E/Sec.19
o Descriptive Location: South of Harvey Mountain, North of Harvey Valley
o Type of burn: Understory burn, timber litter and some brush
o Total Acreage: 200-600 acres
o Planned Ignition: Starting October 17th, possibly continuing through October 21st
o Duration of Ignition and Smoke Production: 2-4 days after the completion of the burn units
o Estimated Direction of Smoke Travel: North, Northeast
o Communities or Smoke Sensitive Areas: Smoke will be visible from Hwy 44 near Poison Lake (driving from the north) and Bogard Work Center/ County Rd A-21 (driving from the south)
