  • New state: Proponents of the state of Jefferson pushed the Plumas County Board of Supervisors to sign a declaration of support Jan. 20, but they didn’t get it.
  • Nursing home to close: Healthcare leaders learned that the skilled nursing hospital in Quincy is slated for closure, which would result in the relocation of more than three dozen patients and the loss of 60 jobs.
  • Program sacked: Judge Ira Kaufman is no longer sentencing people to drug court. He said he was ending the program because clients weren’t being served.

Indian Valley Hospital bids to be opened Friday

Indian Valley Health Care District directors will discuss and possibly take action on bids for the old hospital and billing office properties during a special meeting Friday, Nov. 18.

The agenda was posted after press time, at 8:44 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 15.

Besides bids on the surplus property, directors will also discuss and possibly take action on the Internet property marketing deal they made during their last meeting.

The meeting will be at noon in the Indian Valley Community Center located at 209 Highway 89 in Greenville.

Their next regular meeting will be Monday, Dec. 5, at 5:30 p.m., also in the community center.
