CHP to step up Highway 147 enforcement

Feather Publishing
2/18/2012

During the next several weeks, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) will be sharpening its focus on unsafe driving behaviors on Highway 147 between Hamilton Branch and Canyon Dam. This enhanced effort comes at the request of several residents in the area who have reported unsafe speeds and other reckless driving in the community.

The extra enforcement in this area will include the use of RADAR and/or LIDAR for speed enforcement, a focus on DUI, unsafe lane changes, unsafe passing, restraint usage and an extra effort to diminish distracted driving.

The CHP is committed to providing the highest level of safety for the people who travel on California’s highways. Minimizing the loss of life, injuries and property damage associated with improper driving continues to be the primary goal of the CHP’s enforcement efforts.
