These are a few of the stories you will find in this week's printed newspaper:

  • Luck dog: After eight harrowing days lost in the Plumas National Forest, a missing Shetland sheepdog was found. He was hungry, tired, cold, scratched, limping on bloody paws and missing some fir. But his tail was wagging.
  • On trial: The trial for a Quincy man accused of inflicting fatal injuries on a toddler in 2013 is scheduled to begin March 12.
  • Moving on: Just days after Plumas District Hospital announced that it couldn’t take over Quincy Nursing & Rehabilitation, several residents of the facility have found new homes.

Plumas Unified School District has changed the location of its special meeting Thursday, March 8.

The meeting has moved to the Quincy Elementary School cafeteria, 246 Alder St., to accommodate a larger number of people.

The Plumas County Office of Education meets at 5 p.m. The PUSD meeting is also scheduled for 5 p.m. and will commence as soon as the PCOE meeting concludes.

The school board will hear reports from the four 7-11 school closure committees, and may take action to extend their timeline.

Agendas and minutes are posted at pcoe.k12.ca.us. Click on “District,” then “Governing Board” and then “Meetings.”
