The Smackdown Bull Riding Series will once again be making an appearance at the Plumas-Sierra County Fair. Last year’s event was such a draw to the fair that organizers plan to make the event a regular occurrence.
The Smackdown event has 25 riders signed up from the California Cowboy Professional Rodeo Association and the Professional Bull Riding circuit. The show is already full, but those that want to compete can still be put on a waiting list.
With the professional riders are signed up a few locals as well. Brandon James Grant, Michael Willis and Blake Cadigan will all be attempting to tame the bulls.
The event will take place at 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, in the horse arena at the Plumas-Sierra County Fairgrounds. Tickets are available in Quincy at the fair office or at Pet Country Feed-N-Tack. They are also available at Sierraville Feed in Sierraville.
Tickets cost $10 for general admission or $25 for a family pass that allows attendance for up to four members. Bulls are still available for sponsorship. Those interested are invited to call Manuel Souza at (800) 653-5486 or email him at manuel@manuelstruck.com.
