Public Health Director Hall withdraws resignation

Plumas County Public Health Director Mimi Hall formally rescinded her resignation Thursday, April 19.

In a letter to the Board of Supervisors, Hall said her decision was based on “significant changes” that have taken place at the county and at the new job she had accepted.

Hall said a conversation with Supervisor Lori Simpson led to her decision to withdraw her resignation.

“We spoke at length this morning,” Hall said in a letter to the supervisors Thursday. “And this letter is my decision as a result of our conversation.”

Hall resigned March 20, citing poor treatment by County Administrative Officer Jack Ingstad as the reason for her decision.

Ingstad was ousted April 10 by the Board of Supervisors.

I work with many county departments and I would say this is truely a gift. Mimi is a wonderful asset to Plumas County. I heard the BOS never officially accepted her resignation and as you've read in the paper things are changing at the county level.

I spent over 25 years in the private sector (still am) and now in the public; it is not a "private vs public sector issue": Circumstances change, life throws curve balls you don't expect. We adapt and consider all circumstances. This is best for the citizens of our County. I support this decision.

Now w/o a Boss, does that mean that position will be more of less efficient..?

RK: Managing A&D was not originally a "big priority" of the Public Health Director. Mimi VOLUNTEERED to take that on for the good of the County. She was making excellent progress and it is essential she continues. This task is over and above her duties as Public Health Director.

I have worked for Plumas County for almost 17 years and under several Directors. Mimi’s compassion, dedication and desire to contribute to this community are truly amazing. Our agency has and will continue to benefit greatly from her personal and professional contributions.

Personally, I'm pleased with some of the changes taking place This is one of them I am finding that there some people we need, and others that are too institutionalized in old ways of thinking. I recognize in this, the power of a democracy which began to erode in the middle of the last century
