Two Forest Service engine crews are on the fire, named the Spanish Incident, and appear to be knocking it down quickly.
The first unit arrived on the fire shortly before 8:00 a.m. and reported the fire to be approximately an acre and a half in size with low spread potential.
The Forest Service also dispatched its helicopter to recon the area looking for a reported second fire. They did not locate any additional fire. Drift smoke in the area was probably responsible for the reported second fire.

The Forest Service is expected to have the fire controlled very quickly. This will be the last report on this fire unless there are significant changes.
Fire suppression crews form the Plumas National Forest are responding to a wildland fire just outside of Quincy.
The smoke from the fire is visible in the north end of the American Valley. Based on the appearence of the smoke, the fire appears to be less than an acre in size, with moderate intensity and a low rate of spread.
The fire is reported to be near the road past the old Indian Cemetary off of Chandler Road. No fire suppresion personnel are on the fire at this time.
Updates will be posted as they become available.
