It was a busy week for the baseball teams from all four high schools in Plumas County. In all, the teams played a total of 10 games; some for better and some for worse.
The big winner of the week was Chester, with three games and three wins. The Volcanoes took Greenville down 18-3 April 10. Continuing its streak, Chester beat Liberty Christian twice in a row during its April 12 double header. The Volcanoes dominated with 19-0 and 17-3 wins.
“The game against Greenville was ugly,” commented Chester’s coach Terry Hernandez. “Both teams made a lot of errors. We played better against Liberty Christian and we’re now where we want to be.”
