GRAEAGLE RESTAURANT OPENING
One sure sign that spring is just around the corner is noted when Ed Ward and Candi Ward reopen the Graeagle Restaurant, a family-owned and operated business for the past 35 years. They will start the year serving breakfast and lunch beginning this Saturday, March 8. As summer approaches, they will then serve dinners as well.

ANNIVERSARY DOLLAR BAG SALE
Forget-Me-Not Thrift Store (one of the supporting arms for Sierra Hospice) is celebrating their first anniversary at their 684 Main St., Chester location. As a way of thanking the community for their ongoing support the store is giving customers a "One Dollar Bag Sale." Since moving to this location, they have added two part-time employees and have increased their volunteer base, but added that they can always use more volunteers. The Hospice has an option to buy the building they are now in so they have setup a display in the front of the store to track contributions from the community to show how close they are to calling this building their permanent home.

Debbie Lewis, manager of Fuel Star 76 &Food Mart located across the street from DuPont Power Tools, has an offer that couldn't be more timely considering our dirty streets and sloppy road conditions! Now through March 2, she has reduced the price of their "Touchless" car washes. And, wait, there is more: This Saturday and Sunday and again the following weekend, March 1,2, she is giving away free hot dogs and 16 oz. sodas. No purchase of any kind is necessary, just drop by for a quick bite - it's their way of thanking their customers and meeting new friends!

WOOD NAMED MEMBER SERVICES REP
Equipped with a bachelor's degree in communications and public relations from CSU Sacramento, Tiffany Wood has been hired as the member services coordinator and marketing director for Quincy Natural Foods. In this role, Tiffany will be promoting the Co-op at local events in the community and coordinating their Cooperative Community fund (donations fund). She will also begin an educational series about nutrition, natural foods and supplements that will often times be coordinated into cooking classes. Tiffany spent the last two years teaching English in Spain, prior to that she was a reporter for this newspaper.

LAWRENCE & BRADLEY TO CLOSE
What I would guess had to be one of the toughest decisions of their relatively young life, Tiffany and Rick Leonhardt have decided to close the doors at their downtown Quincy business, Lawrence & Bradley. Tiffany, who ran the business, said she wanted to spend more time with her family, adding that once their kids are grown and gone, she will once again seriously consider getting back into retail. In the meantime, a complete wall-to-wall liquidation gets underway beginning tomorrow, Thursday, Feb. 7. Tiff says everything goes, from inventory to fixtures, which includes a huge assortment of gifts and antiques, display cases, shelving, commercial coolers, deli cases, office equipment and more.
