Frazier Falls; Worth the walk

Late spring is the best time to view Frazier Falls, one of the jewels of the Lakes Basin Recreation Area. The trail is free of snow and the falls are still full. The trailhead is located on Gold Lake Road, about six miles from the intersection of Highway 89. Follow the signs to the parking and picnic areas. The trail is paved and provides a gentle half-mile walk to the viewing area. Strategically placed benches provide areas to rest and visit. The United States Forest Service reports that most of the campgrounds and trails in the area are now open.
