An amphoriscus (Middle Bronze I or Early Bronze IV, 2250 – 2000 B.C.) is one of the artifacts up for auction at the art and artifacts benefit for the Plumas County Museum.

Plumas County Museum supporters will have more than an opportunity to bid on art and artifacts at Longboards Bar & Grill Saturday, June 9.

In addition to the auction, guests will enjoy live music by FlyWire String Quartet and hors d’oeuvers with wine or cocktails between 4 and 7 p.m. Golfers who purchase the $20 ticket receive membership privileges at Plumas Pines Golf Resort for the day.

This is the second year for the museum fundraiser; last year’s proceeds totaled some $5,000 according to museum director Scott Lawson.

Silent and live auctions will feature works from local artists such as Bill Peters and Ann Donnenwirth-Hardin, as well as older artwork donated for the event. Lawson said he had his eye on a “cool picture of a sailboat.”

Historical artifacts will also be up for bid, including silver, china, steer horn furniture from the Kansas plains and an Israeli funerary urn, circa 2250 – 2000 B.C.

Tickets are on sale at Epilog Books in Quincy; Mill Works, Red House Art and Eastern Plumas Chamber of Commerce in Graeagle; Portola Village Pharmacy; Indian Valley Chamber of Commerce in Greenville; and B&B Booksellers in Chester.
