Well the Memorial Day week is going to look more like early spring than early summer.
The low pressure area that is over the Pacific Northwest is now moving eastward. Today will be sunny with a few afternoon clouds over the mountains and temperatures a few degrees warmer but still below normal.
The next weak low pressure area or storm will move across the north state Saturday and Sunday. Partly cloudy skies and a few light showers will occur over the north coast, Trinity, Siskiyou, and Modoc counties. Lassen and Plumas county will see a few clouds and there could be an isolated light shower Saturday afternoon.

Today: Sunny, with a high near 71. Light and variable wind becoming west southwest 5 to 10 mph in the morning.
Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 38. Southwest wind 6 to 11 mph becoming light and variable in the evening.
April in the Lake Almanor Basin continued the recent weather trend of lower than average precipitation and higher than average temperatures. Only 1 inch of snowfall was recorded on the West Shore during April, bringing the season total to 138 inches or 109 percent of the long-term average for this point in the customary water year (July through June).
