75 YEARS AGO..........1936
Bernard Schneider, native of Meadow Valley and Quincy businessman for over fifty years, died in San Francisco this week. He bought and operated Huskinson's drug retail business in 1839. Mr. Huskinson bought the store back when Mr. Schneider purchased the Plumas House, selling it in 1920 and moved to Sacramento.
50 YEARS AGO.......1961
The tennis court at Gansner Park in Quincy was dedicated to Plumas County Board of Supervisor member of twelve years, Jim Cloman this week.
25 YEARS AGO......1986
The 38th annual Plumas County Chamber of Commerce banquet and installation of officers was held in Greenville this week. Newly elected officers were installed including president Joyce Tapp of Portola, vice-president Robin Schumaker of Chester, treasurer Hal Beatty of Quincy and directors Jim Roscoe, Rick DuPont and Mike Taborski.
10 YEARS AGO.....2010
The jury trial for accused killer Rain Dance Dickey O'Brien is slated to start October 2 in Plumas County Superior Court. He is the sole suspect of the January 2000 murder of Jerry Levitoff of Westwood, a United States Forest Service employee killed near Lake Almanor.
