JULY 4TH RODEO; SOLAR COOK-OFF
Just as the dust settles after the ever-popular parade and Silver Buckle Rodeo in Taylorsville July 4th, the town roars right back to life the following weekend with the 18th annual Solar Cook-Off on Saturday, July 14. Activities include solar cooking demonstrations, arts and crafts fair and plenty of live music throughout the day and well into the evening. The featured entertainer performing at the Grange Hall that evening is Rich Estrin and the Nighcats. For more information contact Blackhawk Solar.

After taking off a couple of months this winter to spend more time with his daughter and avoid shoveling snow, Jack Brown has reopened his business, Chester Auto Sales. Jack has more than 20 years in the automotive business, catering to the specific driving needs of Plumas and Lassen County motorists. He deals in both previously owned and factory program cars and trucks and recreational vehicles.

Doug Biddle, president and chief executive officer of Plumas Bank, recently announced that Stefan Murphy has been appointed as vice president and manager of investment services and Tom Sizemore has joined the bank's SBA lending team as vice president. Murphy, a Nevada county native, is a financial advisor with Financial Network Investment Corporation at Plumas Bank. His role is to assist clients in making informed decisions about retirement plans, investment portfolios and financial legacy issues. With over 17 years of experience in the financial services industry, Murphy has worked in both financial institutions and independent wealth management firms. Sizemore has over 30 years experience in the banking industry. His most recent position was vice president and SBA loan underwriter for a bank in Sacramento. "I am looking forward to the strong team-oriented leadership skills they both bring to our bank. In their respective positions, both Stefan and Tom will be a great asset to the customers of Plumas Bank," said Biddle.
