Parents pull students out of class in protest of Glenn Harris' magic tricks

Feather Publishing
5/25/2012

A steady stream of Taylorsville Elementary students are being escorted out of school at lunchtime in protest of a planned magic show by ex-superintendent Glenn Harris, who made arrangements with teacher Karen Williams to fulfill a promise made earlier in the year. According to Principal Gary Stebbins, there will be no magic today, though he arrived with lunch box in hand. Photo by Alicia Knadler

In reference to earlier comment criticizing the TES students' exodus, I have to ask what is better? To stay and humor the man, or to maintain their dignity and leave? I commend the families who chose not to subject their children to the "performance". Hold your heads up high.

No Audience???
Mr. Harris.. I hope you get the hint now that you are not welcome in our schools.
The best magic show you could offer is when you LEAVE.
TES be proud for taking a stand!!

Mr. Dickerson,
Obviously you have not been reading the news. Taylorsville Elementary will be closing at the end of this school year.

Well, it all seems to be getting petty. Let the kids enjoy a magic show - the teacher was probably put on the spot since she had previously agreed to it. He will be gone and it's time to let things go. People like Harris will never get the message anyway. How long will you keep the anger going?
