Ranchers in the Upper Feather River Watershed Group are united in goals for healthy pastures and environment, as well as protection of historical water rights.
On tour Friday, Oct. 22, of the Indian Valley Meyers Family Ranch, participants learned about setting irrigation pipes and the methods to maximize responsible water use throughout the year.
At an October meeting the Plumas County Board of Supervisors encouraged public works director Bob Perreault to move forward with his work on a county off-highway vehicle ordinance. The ordinance will clarify which county roads within Plumas and Lassen national forests are approved for recreational use.

The Plumas County Clerk-Recorders Office has announced final figures for the District 5 supervisor race and the Portola City Council race. Jon Kennedy has defeated Dick Lundy for supervisor by 117 votes. Kennedy's total was 1,267 to Lundy's 1,150.
For the city council, challenger Juliana Mark has captured a seat with 388 votes. Incumbent Curt McBride inched out incumber John Larrieu for the second open seat by just three votes, 311 to 308.
Plumas Arts presents The Waybacks at the Town Hall Theatre on Saturday, Nov. 13. Doors open at 7 p.m. and showtime is 7:30 p.m.
