The Almanor Ranger District of the Lassen National Forest is initiating scoping for the High Lakes Access Project. The District proposes to reroute the northwestern motorized trail into the High Lakes OHV Area to establish permanent, legal access and support resource protection objectives.
Your input is requested as it relates to the proposed action and identification of any issues (point of discussion, debate, or dispute) about the anticipated effects from this proposed action. You are also requested to respond in writing before November 4, 2011.

The Almanor Ranger District of the Lassen National Forest is initiating scoping for
the Zehn Danger Tree Project. The District proposes to fell and remove, or fell and leave in place, trees which create a danger to people using roadways which pass through forested stands. The proposed project area extends from the Forest boundary approximately six miles northeast of Chester, Plumas County, along Forest Highway 32N10 (the "10 road") north to the Silver Lake basin and east to County Road A-21, Lassen County, California.
ALRD requests your input as it relates to the proposed action and identification of any issues (point of discussion, debate, or dispute) about the anticipated effects from this proposed action.  ALRD also requests that you respond in writing before November 14, 2011.
This project, as proposed, falls within the categorical exclusion found at 36 CFR 200.6(d)(4) "Repair and maintenance of roads, trails, and landline boundaries." Note:  On July 8, 2009, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California lifted the injunction it had issued in Earth Island Institute v.
