Budget appropriations hearing

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held on October 12, 2010, at the hour of 6:15 pm in the East Quincy Services District office, Quincy, California, for the purpose of establishing, by resolution, the appropriation limit for the 2010-2011 fiscal year for the East Quincy Services District, as described in Article XIIIB of the State Constitution. The proposed appropriation limit is $191,958.00, and the East Quincy Services District's 2010-2011 budgeted appropriations and provisions for reserves is the sum of $86,300.00. The sum of $86,300.00 is subject to the appropriation limit.

At said hearing the East Quincy Services District Will consider all comments by interested persons.

Notice of Proposed Action

Abandoned Mine Closure

The District Ranger of the Beckwourth Ranger District is seeking public input on closing two abandoned mines on the Beckwourth Ranger District. Both mine sites are abandoned and closure will provide for public safety. Location of these abandoned mines are:

PJ #4: T22N, R13E, NE 1/4 of Section 32

Squaw Lake: T21N, R12E, NW 1/4 of Section 21

The PJ #4 mine shaft would be closed by securing a false bottom into the opening and then sealing the opening with an application of polyurethane foam (PUF). The PUF would be mixed with dirt and rocks to mimic the natural surroundings. The Squaw Lake mine adit would be fitted with a false backing and sealed with an application of polyurethane foam and covered with dirt and rocks to mimic the natural surroundings. Bat gates would be installed to provide continuing bat habitat at sites where needed.

This comment period is intended to provide those interested or affected by this proposal an opportunity to make their concerns known prior to a decision being made by the Responsible Official. This decision is not subject to appeal.
