Wastewater Project

NOTICE OF INTENT TO ADOPT

MITIGATED NEGATIVE DECLARATION

QUINCY COMMUNITY SERVICES DISTRICT

WASTEWATER COLLECTION SYSTEM IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

This notice is to inform you that the Quincy Community Service District has prepared a Draft Mitigated Negative Declaration, pursuant to the requirements of CEQA, Section 15072(a), for the Draft Wastewater Collection System Improvement Project.

The Quincy Community Services District is proposing in the Sewer Collection System Rehabilitation Project to replace approximately 11,500 feet of 6"-15" sewer mains and approximately 85 spot repairs of existing sewer mains. All of these sewer main repairs and replacements will occur in the public right of way, with the vast majority in the paved sections. This project will also install cleanouts in every sewer lateral at the property line to allow the District to monitor the private sources of inflow and infiltration into the system. The approximate cost of this project will be $3.87 million when completed. If construction costs are below the estimates, this project could be expanded to include some, to all, of the additive replacement items on the project figure. This would include replacement of up to 4500 feet of 6" to 15" sewer main in combination with up to 35 spot repairs at the identified locations in the existing sewer collection system. These additive replacements would also occur in the public right of way.

Copies of the Draft Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration and the Draft Wastewater Collection System Improvement Project will be available for the public's review and comment on the District's website (www.quincycsd.com) and at the district office, 900 Spanish Creek Road, Quincy, CA beginning August 12, 2010. Written comments are due by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, September 27, 2010 and may be delivered to the following address:

The District's tentative action will be to adopt the Draft Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration.
