NOTICE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that within the boundaries of the Indian Valley Community Services District, an election will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2015, to determine if the following members of the board of directors shall be recalled from office:
Bradley (Brad) Smith, Michael (Mike) Yost and Jane Braxton Little.
Pursuant to the Uniform District Election Law of the State of California, an election will be held on the same date, Tuesday, March 24, 2015 for the purpose of electing members to the Indian Valley Community Services District Board of Directors if the recall effort is successful.
For recalls of local officers, in accordance with the provisions of California Election Code, Section 11381, nomination of candidates to succeed the recalled officer shall be made in the manner prescribed for nominating a candidate to that office in a regular election. The Declaration of Candidacy shall, in each case, be filed between the dates of December 26, 2014 and January 14, 2015 by 5:00 p.m. Forms must be obtained from and filed in the Elections Official's office at 520 Main Street, Room 102, Courthouse, Quincy, CA 95971. Candidate Statement of Qualifications must be presented during the filing period and an estimated, prepaid cost of $200 per candidate shall be collected at the time of filing.
No person whose recall is being sought may be a candidate to succeed himself or herself at a recall election nor to succeed any other member of the same governing board whose recall is being sought at the same election. Qualified candidates for the Board of Directors shall be registered voters residing in the Indian Valley Community Services District pursuant to Government Code Section 61040.
Equipment testing and certification will be on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. The deadline to register to vote in this election is March 09, 2015. The election will be conducted with Vote by Mail ballots which will be mailed on February 23, 2015.
