Stage 2 - Water Alert Declaration
On Wednesday, June 25th, 2014 the Board of Directors raised our water conservation status to a STAGE 2 - WATER ALERT.  We ask for your cooperation in following the Stage 2 Water Alert guidelines below:
1. No washing down of driveways, parking lots or other similar areas with PECSD potable water.
2. Residences, businesses and properties with addresses ending in odd numbers will water on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
3. Residences, businesses and properties with addresses ending in even numbers will water only on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
4. No watering will occur on Sunday.
5. Lawn and landscape watering will occur only between 6 PM and 8 AM.
6. PECSD potable water shall not be used for dust control.
7. No filling of swimming pools, ponds or reservoirs over 200 cubic feet with PECSD potable water except by special permission from the District.
8. PECSD will contact customers failing to comply with conservation efforts and stress compliance.
¥ Infrequent hand watering will be allowed to sustain landscaping.
Water is a precious resource.  Please do your part to conserve.

Budget notice

McKesick Peak Ferris Fields Allotments Project

As the Responsible Official, District Ranger Deb Bumpus prepared a draft Decision Notice for the McKesick Peak Ferris Fields Allotments Environmental Assessment (EA).
The project area is located north of Frenchman Lake and west of Honey Lake on the Beckwourth Ranger District of the Plumas National Forest in Plumas and Lassen Counties, California (see Figure 1, Appendix A). The McKesick Peak Allotment is 8,337 acres consisting of four pastures; the Ferris Fields Allotment is 2,431 acres consisting of 11 pastures. The McKesick Peak Allotment is located in T26N, R14E, Sections 13, 14, 22-24, T26N, R15E, Sections 17-23, 26-29, 33-35. The Ferris Fields Allotment is located in T26N, R15E, portions of Sections 30-33 and R14E, portions of Sections 24-26.
The Proposed Action would authorize continued livestock grazing with changes to management strategies on the McKesick Peak and Ferris Fields Allotments. The Proposed Action was developed in order to meet the following objectives: Improve riparian areas, fens, meadows, willow flycatcher habitat, yellow-legged frog critical habitat, and stream channels. In order to meet the project objectives, grazing numbers have been reduced, there will be more flexibility in grazing riparian pastures, three new exclosures will be constructed in order to protect meadows, riparian areas, and habitat for willow flycatcher, areas within a previous watershed restoration project will be revegetated and armored with rock; and an adaptive management strategy has been developed. The details of the Proposed Action are fully described in the EA. The preferred alternative is the Proposed Action (Alternative 2).
