Obituaries for 10/14/2009
Longtime Westwood resident James William Porter, 86, died Oct. 5, 2009, at his residence due to kidney failure.
He was born in Lyman, Neb., to the late Edward and Leona (Phagan) Porter.
Survivors include his wife Ruth; son James; daughters Karin Azusa, Pamela Murphy of Doyle and Karin of Westwood; brother Alfred Porter of Washington; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Porter was predeceased by one grandson, four brothers and one sister.
A celebration of his life to include military honors will be at Westwood Cemetery 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17.
