Whitehawk Ladies
Another beautiful day on the links. The ladies at Whitehawk played “Whack & Hack.” Two best balls net — one low net plus one high net equaled the team score.

By now you are familiar with the name Barbara Competello (was on the winning team the last two Tuesdays.) Well, Lynn Smith and Virgina Luhring carried her to today to win first place. Coming in second was the team of Toni Dick (won chip-in money), Diane Romig and Ann Veruti.

Next week we will celebrate the 4th of July playing the game of Red,White and Blue — better known as flag day.

LAWWGC
It was only six days after the first day of summer, but it felt like winter again to the Lake Almanor West ladies on Thursday, June 26. Bundled up against the freezing cold day, the 18-hole group played for low net. Kathy Doms was first with a score of 69. She got a birdie on hole number 12. Kathi Shennan also had 69 but took second after the tie breaker. She had a chip-in on number 16. Karen Trattt took third place with a 7l. Caroyln Wilhoit was the winner of the nine hole group.

After the game, everyone warmed up in the clubhouse restaurant with a cup of Mike’s wonderful minestrone soup which was included with their lunch orders. Thank you, Mike!

Mt. Huff Golf Scores
Partly cloudy and cool weather made for comfortable golf on Wednesday, June 26, for the morning scramble.

The first place team, at eight under par, made Dan McConnell, Gary Metzdorf and Greg Stevens pretty happy.

Coming in at a close second were team members Todd Posch, Jeff Stevens, Dan Rooney and Margie Joseph.

Closest to the pin was won by David Ricetti, and the chip-in contest drew a tie between Loren Lindner and Dan McConnell.

The Thursday evening scramble on June 26 continued with cool and cloudy weather. No rain, which was great for the golfers.

In first place, at two under par, came team members Greg Stevens, Margie Joseph, Gary McClellan, and Lynn McClellan.

Two teams came in at two under parand a chip-off gave the placing toStan Carr, Perry Bertocchi, Jim McGlen and Kelly McGlen.

Closest to the pin was won by Gary McClellan and the longest drive was scored by Mike Ruggeri.

It is an amusing note that, while this team always comes in second, they always get bested by the chip-in! Kind of becoming a humorous situation at Mt. Huff!
