Quincy’s two service districts aren’t likely to consolidate in the near future. But an engineer’s report recommended they join forces to tackle the valley’s wastewater treatment problem.

East Quincy Services District engineer Dan Bastian recommended the districts collaborate in an effort to build a new treatment plant.

School board meets Wednesday evening in Quincy

When the governing board of Plumas Unified School District meets Wednesday evening, Feb. 8, in the multi-purpose room at Quincy Elementary School, 246 Alder Street in Quincy, it will take up a number of issues related to proposed school closures.

Although the meeting is scheduled to start at 5 p.m., because it follows the Plumas County Office of Education board meeting, it may begin later.

Chester 7-11 meeting off, now on again

The Chester 7-11 Committee’s meeting scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, Feb. 7, 6 p.m. at the Chester High School library, was off again and now on again following misunderstandings about posting requirements for the public meeting.

Officials search for missing Janesville man

Law enforcement agencies and search and rescue teams from Lassen and Plumas counties have launched an in-depth search for Richard Earl Welton, 54, of Janesville. He was last seen Jan. 19. He is six feet tall and weighs 210 pounds. If you have any information about the whereabouts of Welton, call detectives Dave Woginrich or John McGarva at the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office at 257-6121. Photo submitted
