On Sunday, April 3, at about 4:21 p.m. the Sierra County Sheriff’s Office was advised by Plumas County Sheriff’s Office that a snowmobile accident had occurred near the Sierra/Plumas county line. The location was approximately 40 feet from the entrance to the Day Use Area of Gold Lake, near the town of Sierra City. The rider had apparently rolled the snowmobile down a slight ledge and then became trapped beneath the snowmobile.
