Overturned big rig removed, roadway open to passenger vehicles only. High profile vehicles remain restricted from Johnstonville, junction US 395 and SR 36 to Nevada State Line due to high winds. Wind warning in effect.

Caltrans has closed route 395 at the agricultural inspection station on the California-Nevada border because of a big rig blown over near Doyle in Lassen County. A high wind advisory is also in effect from Portola to the 395 junction. A high wind advisory indicates that travel isn't recommended for trucks with permit loads, trailers or campers.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS: SIX TO 12 INCHES AROUND 5000 FEET AND ONE TO TWO FEET OVER HIGHER ELEVATIONS THROUGH TUESDAY AFTERNOON. ADDITIONAL ACCUMULATIONS POSSIBLE TUESDAY NIGHT AND WEDNESDAY.

LAFCo votes for Feather River Inn annexation
The Plumas County Local Agency Formation Commission voted at its March 15 meeting to approve the "annexation of the Feather River Inn property to the Graeagle Fire Protection District, subject to specified terms and conditions."
The 4 - 1 vote came after an extended series of questions from public member Jim Krantz, who wanted to understand the details of the agreement that would be worked out between the fire district and inn owners, the Schomac Group, LLC.

Grizzly Road home saved from fire
A structure fire at 3311 Fawn Lane, off Grizzly Road outside of Portola, destroyed the garage and workshop of Bill and Virginia Muckle, 23-year residents.
Incident commander, Fire Chief Greg McCaffrey of Beckwourth Volunteer Fire Department, said the cause of the fire was still under investigation.

Tobin water system may have funding source
Plumas County Community Development Commission Executive Director David Keller recently told his board of commissioners, mostly made up of county supervisors, that Plumas County could be eligible for disaster recovery funds because of the local impacts of the 2008 fire season.

County OKs clerk to verify PDH petition signatures

County Clerk Kathy Williams brought the Plumas District Hospital tax cap issue before the Board of Supervisors March 16 as an "urgency item."
She said the resolution passed by the PDH board appointing the county clerk as its elections official and asking that her office inspect voter signatures on the tax limitation initiative and "if proper" certify the petition, had been brought to her attention on the previous Friday - too late to get it on the supervisors' agenda.
