RITE AID customers may have some immediate difficulty when they try to locate their favorite brand of cough syrup, but the store's management believes the long-term benefits will be worth the temporary inconveniences.
RITE AID is undergoing a major transformation. "When it's complete, our customers will think that they are entering a brand new store," District Manager Larry Farnum said during a tour last week.
Work got underway at the beginning of March and is expected to be completed by the last week in April. A grand opening celebration is scheduled for May 8.
Once the ribbon is cut, customers will enter a store that has been transformed. "We gutted it," said store manager, Melinda Garrett.
Last Thursday, April 1, Garrett and Farnum gave this reporter a tour of the work that has occurred and described what is planned.
Garrett pointed out the fresh paint, the new flooring and the updated shelving units. There are also new cash registers, refrigeration units, signage and a pharmacy waiting area.
