Feather River College’s volleyball team is off to a good start this season, with five wins and only one loss.
FRC traveled to Gilroy on Aug. 31 for its first set of matches in the annual Gavilan tournament. FRC beat Gavilan 3-0 in its first match.
Later that day, FRC paired up against American River. FRC couldn’t keep up its momentum from the first match and lost 3-0.
The following day, the FRC volleyball team traveled to San Francisco for another tournament. FRC emerged from the tournament with two more wins. FRC beat San Francisco City College and Reedley College, both 3-0.
Tuesday, Sept. 4, FRC played its first home match against Southwestern Oregon. FRC swept SWOCC in three games.
In the first game FRC dominated 25-15. FRC kept its momentum through the rest of the match. The second and third games were 25-16, and 25-18.
FRC’s volleyball team traveled to Sacramento the next day to play Sequoias. The match lasted four games, with FRC coming out on top 3-1.
FRC continued its winning streak Sept. 7, against American River at the Delta tournament. FRC beat American River in a five game match, 3-2.
FRC plays Sierra College today, Sept. 12 at 4 p.m. in Rocklin. On Sept. 14, FRC will travel to Butte College.
