Two deaths in two days might have been weather-related, according to the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office.

The bodies of a 54-year-old woman and an 81-year-old man were found on Tuesday and Wednesday in the Indian Valley area. Both were discovered outside their homes.

According to Sheriff Detective Sgt. Steve Peay, the cause of death in both cases was still under investigation Thursday, Jan. 17.

“They could have been from medical issues, but they could have been due to the cold,” Peay said.

On Tuesday morning, the body of Brenda Bradford was found outside a residence at 506 Higby in Greenville.

The following afternoon, the body of Philip Walling was discovered near a residence at the Mt. Hough Estates on Mountain View Road in Crescent Mills.

According to Peay, Walling showed signs of head trauma, indicating he might have fallen.

A complete report will be featured in Wednesday, Jan. 23 editions of Feather Publishing newspapers.
