Work of repairing the bridge over Spanish Creek on the north side of Quincy began this week as did the bridge near the rodeo grounds in Taylorsville. Both bridges were washed away during storms last month. Plumas County has filed a claim for $110,000 to finance restoration to county roads following last months storms.
25 YEARS AGO..........1988
The Plumas County Board of Supervisors has unanimously voted to hire a county administrator.
The Indian Valley Hospital in Greenville has hired a full time administrator, Bill Parker of Colorado, the first in-house administrator there in five years.
10 YEARS AGO..........2003
Retired California Highway Patrol officer Paul Baker and Ken Donnell, both of Indian Valley, have declared their candidacy and are seeking the Plumas County Board of Supervisor position of Robert Meacher if his recall effort is successful.
A 24 page insert in this week’s newspapers celebrates and honors the 125th anniversary of the Quincy Fire Department and highlights its history through the years. The Quincy Hose Company was founded in 1878.
