FRC ranks in top ten

Feather River College ranks eighth in the state for community college student progress and achievement rate, according to San Francisco Chronicle writer Kathleen Pender in her March 2 article, “California community college success rates vary widely.”

The article comes in advance of the Chancellor’s Office releasing state colleges scorecards.

The student progress and achievement ratings (SPAR) measure the percentage of students seeking a degree, certificate or transfer and complete it within six years.

President Kevin Trutna said he was “proud to announce that Feather River College is listed in the top 10 California Community Colleges for this progress and achievement rate.

“What is even more impressive is that all of the other colleges in the top 10 (even the top 20) are in large, urban, affluent areas, in close proximity to a university, which leads to a natural transfer partnership (such as Irvine Valley College and UC Irvine).
