75 Years Ago........1938

    The Marysville-La Porte stage made the trip for the first time this season this week. Mail service to La Porte, which is handled out of Quincy from June until November, is being handled by stage and skiers.

    A water district for Blairsden to provide for domestic water needs and fire protection has been formed and will be supplied from sources by the Western Paicific Railroad Company.

50 Years Ago........1963

    The annual Plumas County Picnic will be held at the Plumas County fairgrounds Sunday. Free BBQ beef, beans, bread and coffee will be served. Contestants in the Sweetheart of the Mountains contest include Tanya Dee Bridges, Francis Reed and Shari Craig, all of Westwood and Quincy girls Irene Brustad, Janice McKevitt, Gwen Hassell, Jenny Fordyce and Nancy Peterson.

25 Years Ago......1988

    The newly constructed library-audio visual building addition at Feather River College will be dedicated at the Feather River campus Saturday. The new addition was added to the existing library building.

10 Years Ago.............2003

    The Plumas Unified School District board unanimously voted to appoint Greenville resident Mike Chelotti as superintendent of PUSD. He is currently the district’s director of curriculum.
