Portola Reporter legal notices for the week of 6/26/2013

Notice of Correction
The Graeagle Fire Protection District has published in a Public Notice their acceptance of construction bids for the construction of Station 2 in the last two weeks, ending the 12th of July at 12 noon.  It has been brought to our attention in the Plumas County Building Permit Issued List, that the GFPD has a contractor for this project. This is a misunderstanding and error on our part in acquiring the Building Permit.  The contract HAS NOT BEEN AWARDED at this time.
Please accept our apology for this misunderstanding and note that the Graeagle Fire Protection District is still accepting construction bids per the two notices published in the paper.  The Bid opening is scheduled on July 12th at 12 noon after the close of Bid acceptance.

You should also be aware that the lien being auctioned off may be a junior lien. If you are the highest bidder at the auction, you are or may be responsible for paying off all liens senior to the lien being auctioned off, before you can receive clear title to the property. You are encouraged to investigate the existence, priority, and size of outstanding liens that may exist on this property by contacting the county recorder's office or a title insurance company, either of which may charge you a fee for this information. If you consult either of these resources, you should be aware that the lender may hold more than one mortgage or deed of trust on the property. NOTICE TO PROPERTY OWNER The sale date shown on this notice of sale may be postponed one or more times by the mortgagee, beneficiary, trustee, or a court, pursuant to Section 2924g of the California Civil Code. Crocker Multi-Purpose Trails Project
Plumas National Forest
Beckwourth Ranger District
Plumas County, California
Opportunity to Comment on the Crocker Multi-Purpose Trails Project
The Plumas National Forest, Beckwourth Ranger District proposes to develop a multi-purpose trail connecting the Crocker Campground with Red Clover Valley and Dotta Canyon and establish a staging area off of the 26N70 road at the 24N23 intersection. The purpose of the Crocker Multi-Purpose Trail is to provide alternative access from the Beckwourth-Genesee Road to Red Clover Valley. The Beckwourth-Genesee road is scheduled to be paved which will eliminate the current use by OHV's. The trail system that will be identifided will be a safe network designed for OHV travelers and capable of accomodating multiple user groups (hikers, non-motorized cyclists, and equestrians). The District will prepare an Environmental Assessment for this project.
The project is located approximately 11 miles north of Beckwourth, California, and about 3 miles east-of Lake Davis.  Trail analysis would occur within all or portions of T23N and T24N, R14E, Sections 33, 32, 31, 30, 29, 25, 19, 20, 23, 14, 15 and 9, Mt. Diablo Base Meridian. The Project Initiation Letter detailing the proposed project is available for review at the Beckwourth District Office or available online on the Plumas National Forest webpage under Land and Resources Management ( For additional information, or to obtain a copy of the Project Initiation Letter, contact: Lisa Sedlacek, Assistant Resource Officer, at (530) 836-2575.
Our desire is to receive comments or other expressions of interest on the merits of the proposed action, as well as comments that address errors, misinformation, or information that has been omitted. Public questions and comments regarding this proposal are an integral part of this environmental analysis process. Comments will be used to identify issues and develop alternatives to the proposed action. To assist the Forest Service in identifying and considering issues and concerns on the proposed action, comments should be as specific as possible.
Instead of an appeal period, there will be an objection process before the final decision is made and after the environmental document and draft decision notice is mailed (reference 36 CFR 218). In order to be eligible to file an objection to the preferred alternative, specific written comments related to the project must be submitted during scoping or any other periods public comment is specifically requested on this EA (218.5). Individual members of organizations must have submitted their own comments to meet the requirements of eligibility as an individual, objections received on behalf of an organization are considered as those of the organization only. Names and addresses of those who comment and/or file objections will become part of the public record.
Send written comments to Deb Bumpus, Beckwourth District Ranger, c/o Lisa Sedlacek, Beckwourth Ranger District, PO Box 7, Blairsden, CA 96103. Fax: (530) 836-0493. Comments may be: (1) Mailed to the IDT Leader; (2) hand delivered between the hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., weekdays Pacific Time; (3) faxed to (530) 283-7746; or (4) electronically mailed to: Please indicate the name "Crocker Multi-Purpose Trails Project" on the subject line of your email. Comments submitted electronically must be in Rich Text Format (.rtf).
DATES: Although comments will be accepted throughout any phase of this project, it would be most helpful if comments on the scope of the proposed action were received by July 26, 2013.

A PETITION FOR PROBATE has been filed by: Andrew D. Smith in the Superior Court of California, County of Plumas.

(This authority will allow the personal representative to take many actions without obtaining court approval. Before taking certain very important actions, however, the personal representative will be required to give notice to interested persons unless they have waived notice or consented to the proposed action.)
