75 YEARS AGO..........1938

    Advertisement : 18th annual Chester Rodeo with 3000 covered grandstand seats $1.00. Biggest Little Show in the West Sunday. Big Rodeo dance Saturday night.

    Oiling of the new Vinton-Loyalton Road has begun. The road was built under a federal road program for $60,000 with Plumas County providing almost half of the cost from the county general road tax.

50 YEARS AGO..........1963

  Mary Schieser, 94, a resident of Greenville and a Plumas County native was named senior Queen of the Gold Diggers Day event in Greenville last weekend. She was born June 28, 1869 in Rich Bar in the Feather River Canyon.

25 YEARS AGO..........1988

    A 25,000 square foot supermarket as well as additional merchant space is planned for the 14 acres north of Highway 70 at Delleker, in eastern Plumas county.

10 YEARS AGO..........2003

    The Plumas County Sheriff’s Office personal watercraft team is now patrolling Lake Almanor waters with two new Honda water bikes courtesy of a special lease with Honda of Chico.
