The Feather River Blue Star Moms will be hosting their third annual Veterans Appreciation Dinner on Monday, Nov. 11, in the Chester Memorial Hall.

“We host this home-cooked dinner as a way to thank all those that have served and those that are currently serving in the armed forces,” president Ann Cordero said. “We also do this because we enjoy the camaraderie of those sitting down to dinner.”

She also said that an important part of the dinner was the opportunity for veterans to meet, socialize and support one another.

The local chapter is extending their dinner invitation to all veterans, young and aged, active duty service members and their families throughout Plumas and Lassen counties.

The dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m. and features lasagna, green salad, garlic bread and a variety of homemade desserts.

Those planning to attend should RSVP to Ann Cordero, at 596-4785, no later than Nov. 7.

The Chester Memorial Hall is located at the corner of Stone and Gay streets, one block off Main Street, behind Maria’s Mexican Restaurant in Old Town Chester.

The Feather River Blue Star Moms Chapter serves active duty troops and family members in Plumas County and the Lassen County community of Westwood.

Chester meetings are held the first Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Chester Memorial Hall.

Quincy meetings are the second Thursday of each month, at 6:30 p.m. in the Masonic Lodge on Harbison.
