OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY SERVICES
    Jeanne Harper, owner/operator of Skills 4 Living Therapy in Portola, now provides occupational therapy services in conjunction with Eastern Plumas Health Care. Jeanne has 25 years experience in the field, with special certifications in hand therapy. She is available to provide her services to EPHC patients in the skill nursing and hospital medical-surgical units.



FLAT SCREEN TV WINNER
    J.R. Thompson and his wife Windy served up what we were told was a great barbecue and lots of fun for an estimated crowd of some 500 people who attended the grand opening gala for their Chester business, Mt. Lassen Log Homes. Denise Herrington of Redding was the lucky winner of the grand prize, a 40-inch flat panel television.

TENTH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
    In celebration of 10 years of ownership, Diane Irving and “the girls” at Moon’s,…the restaurant somewhere in Quincy, have cooked up a special offer this Friday-Sunday, July 24-26. With the purchase of two dinners, diners will have their choice of a complimentary artichoke appetizer or shrimp cocktail. It’s simply their way of saying thanks for making their first 10 years such a success.

“CODE THREE” GOLF TOURNEY
    A benefit golf tournament for the Indian Valley Fire and Rescue is set for Aug. 2 at Mt. Huff Golf Course in Crescent Mills. Fee includes golf and dinner. If you don’t golf, you can still show your support by attending the dinner. Call the clubhouse for all the particulars.

    Classical homeopath Rose Buzzetta has new signs pointing the way to her Main Street Quincy office. Hopefully, she says, this will make the office, which is in the back a bit from the street, a little easier to find.

PIZZA CHAINS SETS RECORD
    Papa Murphy’s International announced that in 2008 it achieved the third highest growth in estimated sales per unit among the country’s 100 largest foodservice chains. Quincy store owners Rick and Eileen Greenly added that among the nation’s six largest pizza chains, Papa Murphy’s saw the greatest growth in U.S. system-wide sales.

MUSIC ON THURSDAYS
    Be sure not to miss the ‘Party on the Patio’ featuring the music of Neva tomorrow, Thursday, July 23, at The Grille at Chalet View Lodge on Highway 70 between Graeagle and Portola. The price of admission includes wine tasting, cheese and fruit or you can buy a ticket that includes a dinner package for just a little more. Proceeds benefit High Sierra Animal Rescue. Lodge owners Bob and Carrie Hickman tell us they will be having music every Thursday through the season.

   Jeff Lemons, owner of Lemons Electric, is celebrating his 10-year anniversary this month. He has 27 years of experience as an electrician. As an electrical contractor, Jeff’s services include new construction, residential, as well as electrical troubleshooting.

    x Two years ago Northern California auto giant Benny Brown bought Quincy Auto Center, the local Ford, Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep dealership. Benny owns several other successful dealerships, including Susanville Ford, Susanville Auto Center along with stores in Corning and Oroville.

     x Joanie Kielty, owner of Treats Dog Company in Chester, is celebrating her second year in business. She offers a self-serve dog wash and dog treat bakery, both have become quite popular with her customers. She has also increased awareness about health and wellness and what a difference, she says, quality, holistic food can make in a pet’s life.

    X Bruce and Susan Robinson are celebrating their 43rd anniversary as owners of Shadetree Auto Sales and Repair in East Quincy. They cater to their customers with quality used cars and trucks and the line of light-duty Mahindra tractors, dump trailers and horse trailers. Behind the sales department is an experienced automotive service and repair facility. Also at the facility are Quincy Auto Glass and Plumas Auto Diagnostics handling the smog station.   

    x Tom and Doria Hupp are marking their 17th year as proprietors of Almanor Flooring, Inc. in Chester. As a licensed flooring contractor, they sell and install a wide selection of flooring products including carpet, ceramic tile, hardwood, laminate and vinyl. They are also priority dealers for a full line of Hunter Douglas window coverings.

    X Teri Haas is now in her seventh year with her Top Dog Grooming Studio. You will find her doggy studio located off Quincy Junction Road on Bell Lane.

    X Elizabeth and George Erdesz have owned and operated the Ranchito Motel in East Quincy — where patrons enjoy “a restful night’s sleep by the
babbling brook — for 15 years.
