Second Earthquake in a week near Chester

The U.S. Geological Survey says an earthquake struck this morning near the Northern California town of Chester.

The magnitude-3.7 quake struck at 9:41 a.m Wednesday morning. It was centered in a remote area about eight miles southwest of Chester and 8 miles west of Prattville in northern Plumas County. This is nearly the same location as last Fridays 3.6 magnitude earthquake. The epicenter of the quake was .9 miles deep.

Some residents as far away as Lassen County felt the quake, but according to the Plumas County Sheriff's Department, there are no reports of damage or injuries.
